Windows 10: Missing USB Composite Device Driver and How To Download ?

Hello, my VivoBook 14 X412DA has no physical damage but my USB ports are not working properly. For example, when I put on my RGB gaming mouse, the lights turn on, but the mouse does not work. I checked the Universal Serial Bus controllers driver menu from Device Manager. Since the USB Composite Device driver is not visible there even if the show hidden device feature is turned on, it does not work if there is no correct driver for USB. In the meantime, I have checked all the updates from both Windows 11 and MyAsus software. My laptop is currently up to date. Here are the methods I tested to

Method 1: Uninstall the Driver

1. Go to Device Manager.
2. Locate the device that is causing the code 10 error. Right-click it and select Uninstall on the context menu.
3. When prompted to confirm the uninstallation, check the box next to “Delete the driver software for this device” and click the OK button.
4. Restart your computer and check to see if the issue is resolved.

Method 2: Update the driver

You can update the driver manually by going to the manufacturer’s website for the device that has the code 10 error, and search for the most recent correct driver. You may also follow these steps on how to update the USB
composite device driver via Device manager:

1. Hit Windows key + R key together to open Run dialog box.
   
   Type devmgmt.msc in the box and hit Enter to open Device Manager.
2. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers dialog.
   
   Find and right-click on USB Composite Device.
   
   Then click Update Driver Software.
3. Click Search automatically for updated driver software.

Can you send us a screenshot of the error message? We suggest uninstalling and re-installing USB drivers and check if the issue persists. To do that, please follow these steps:

• Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  
• Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
• Right-click on the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click on
  Uninstall to remove it.
• Repeat these steps for the entire USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
• Restart the computer. Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
