Windows 10: Microsoft won't send me a verification code

It all started 2 days ago when I wanted to connect a phone number to my Microsoft account. I choose my gmail account to verify, and it doesn't send anything. I've tried many things like looking in the Junk and the Spam, nothing there. I tried troubleshooting, "Sorry, we are unable to help".

Microsoft won't send me verification code emails

Hi TG. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Sometimes the code won't be sent until your Account is verified in Settings > Accounts > Your Info.

If that's not it then here are the steps Microsoft recommends for troubleshooting verification Code arrival:

If nothing else works then I'd Contact Microsoft Support at Contact Us - Microsoft Support. Explain the problem to the Virtual Assistant and keep asking for an agent, to get chat or a call back on week days.

Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

I understand you're not receiving a verification code for your Microsoft account. If your security info's are up to date, you may be experiencing delays receiving the code which I have also experienced before.
