Windows 10: Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 packages wrong version

On this page https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/download/details.aspx?id=26347, one can download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 8.0.61001. But after dowloading the packages french or english version, I look at their version and it's 6.0.2900.2180. I think people who updated these packages in 2021 with a new sha256 signing key took the wrong version.

I suggest you to uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Package to check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Uninstall the exiting Microsoft Visual C++.

a) Press Windows key + x key and select Programs and Features.

b) Right click on the Microsoft Visual C++ and uninstall it.

Step 2: Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and install it.

The Visual C++ Redistributable Packages install run-time components of Visual C++ libraries. These components are required to run C++ applications that are developed using Visual Studio 2015 and link dynamically to Visual C++ libraries. These package
can be used to run such applications on a computer even if it does not have Visual Studio 2015 installed. Different application will use different version required.

and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested.

I suggest you to uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:
