Windows 10: Microsoft teams icon present on taskbar after uninstall

I have gone through and already uninstalled teams, system wide installer was not present. ive also already deleted the entries for taskbar icons and confirmed there was no teams option under the microsoft/office/ registry in regedit and the icon is still present on my taskbar after multiple restarts.

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

How do stop Microsoft Teams from loading

I have never logged into Teams, so go to Settings > General > Application: does not apply.

I can End task in Task Manager or right click on the Taskbar icon and Exit or Close window.

Restarting Windows brings back Windows Teams.

Microsoft Teams is not listed on the Start menu.

Microsoft Teams was listed under installed apps and was installed on 2/21/2019.

I uninstalled the app and did a restart.

Problem solved.

So it appears that toast notifications for Microsoft Teams cannot be disabled, still keep the taskbar icon flashing. It's possible the toast notifications still appearing, in the Activity Center even after they are turned off for all applications, is actually a bug with Microsoft Teams though.
