Windows 10: Microsoft Store When I try to install apps, it gets stuck at "Acquiring license..."

Trying to install hulu and Disney+. It just gives me an error after hitting acquiring license. I have tried all methods including: reseting the store cache, double-checking time and date, running SFC, re-register store, and creating a new local and administrative user. I am using windows 11.

Hi. I am trying download some apps in Windows Store. But it got stuck at " Acquiring License" Because of this, I cannot update the pending apps. Is there a solution for this?

I have a big problem. My Groove Music stopped working properly, so I wanted to reinstall it, but it seems like every app I try to install in Microsoft Store, gets stuck at 0% and it says "Acquiring license...". It also says "Error" after some minutes. How do I fix it?

We understand that you are unable to download any Store Applications because it is getting stuck on acquiring license. Let’s us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured, we will do anything in our capability to assist you with your concern.



As per your description while downloading an App on the Microsoft Store it gets stuck on Acquiring License. The causes behind this issue could either be with the Microsoft account used to log in to the Microsoft Store or the Store application itself.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that could possibly fix the issue:

1. Reset the Microsoft Store cache

• Press Windows key + R to open the Run elevated command line.
  
• In the command line, type WSReset.exe, and press Enter.
  
• This will restart Microsoft Store, and clear the stored cache.
  

2. Run the Microsoft Store Troubleshooter

• Right-click Start, and open Settings.
  
• Select Update & security.
  
• Choose Troubleshoot from the left pane.
  
• Scroll to the bottom and highlight the Microsoft Store Apps troubleshooter.
  
• Click on the Run the troubleshooter button.
  

3. Double-check time, date, and region settings

• Right-click on the Start menu, and open the Settings app.
  
• Choose the Time & language section.
  
• Select Date & time from the left pane.
  
• Check Set time automatically, and Select time zone automatically, and make sure both options are enabled.
  
• Now, choose Region & language from the same pane.
  
• Change Country or region to United States.
  
• Exit Settings, and look for changes in the Store.
  

4. Run SFC

• In the Windows Search bar, type cmd.
  
• Right-click on the Command Prompt and run it as an administrator.
  
• Type the following command in the command line and press Enter:
  

sfc /scannow

• Wait for the procedure to end, and try downloading apps from Microsoft Store again.
  

5. Re-register Microsoft Store

• Right-click the Start button, and open PowerShell (Admin).
  
• In the command line, type (or copy-paste) the following command, and press Enter:
  

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"}

• This will force Windows to reinstall the default apps, and restore the changes one of the latest updates has made.
  
• After it’s done, close PowerShell and restart your PC.
  

6. Create a different user account please follow this link Create a local user or administrator account in Windows (microsoft.com).

• Test Microsoft store after creating a new user account
