    I would rather compare it to PowerShell, especially to PowerShell ISE (Integrated Scripting Environment). In screenshot a simple three command line PS script from video I posted a few days ago, how to create a shortcut for a script that starts (boots) a Hyper-V vm, launches its process window and waits until user terminates that process (closes the window), thereafter automatically shuts down the vm:

    The example above is really simple but that's scripting.

    I can see no cons in bringing Bash natively to Windows, without need to use third party tools.

    As far as I know, based on information available at the moment it will only be a console, no graphical user interface.

    @groze,

    I get your point and its my fault for not being specific " sorry about that that's my fault "

    The answer is yes to all of your OS past and current questions, example dos is windows and always will be windows at the foundation level.

    Things changed lots with windows 95 with an add on " lets call it form UI or Desktop Interface with hardware policies and requirements

    from windows 95 right up to windows 10 " its the same identical core formula " with a few more features and kernel changes "

    The Kernel <---------------- is the most extensive and most labour taxed through out Microsoft's Windows development division , lots of wrench time and testing beyond anyone's imagination, each Windows new version has the Kernel bumped up a point or re-written to accommodate new standards in hardware and tie in the new extended features and options that will be included in the new version of Windows.

    With that said if open source was implemented you would have options example to copy parts or windows 95 and introduce it to Windows 2000 and again bring services or features from Windows 10 across also and migrate " just an example "

    The Kernel will be a hit and miss mission in the process but lets leave this one alone " I am just walking you through it fast "

    Microsoft can provide a script that is in the size of 9 MB's that will make any Windows open source for you within 15 to 20 mins as soon as the script completes its command and with a hex tool or MS certified compiler tool your will be able to see the " Billion Dollar Gem In front of your eye's to program anything in this world to Windows or heart desires " hardware. apps, features' and so on if you know around some programing in general...

    Hope I make some sense, Groze

    At the meantime we just have to wait and see if Microsoft will unleash and make Windows/Windows 10 Open Source where many programmer experts, on every side of the fence say they will have no choice down the road in the future to succeed in the changes of times and technology down the road and in the future... " where everything will be one day in our life time all cloud powered and sim card controlled"

    Plug in your SIM Card to any device and presto all your purchased apps and where you left off and everything you have today on your PC/Device Investment will be all there just like you experience it today but lots more brand new services and features with that said, " that's correct you wont be able to do it with todays specs or hardware " and yes we will all again be pleasantly informed that we all need to upgrade again down the road... That's where its all heading , doesn't matter if your going with an Apple device or a Google device or least but not last a Microsoft device
