Windows 10: Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse: Erratic Mouse Pointer and/or Mouse Working Intermittently

If anyone is having issues with mouse pointer being erratic on-screen using 'Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse' or any similar optical mouse by Microsoft using Blue LED: Avoid using lighter coloured mousepad or surfaces with mouse, and opt for using darker coloured mousepad/surface that doesn't interfere with wavelength of Blue LED, as lighter coloured mousepads greyscale etc tend to have blue pigments that absorb blue LED light at certain angles; causing mouse cursor to become erratic on screen, due to mouse not knowing correct position with movement across surface.I have tested this mouse on

Thank you for getting back to us, Naris. Since the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse worked intermittently on both your Surface Pro4 and your HP Pavillion, then it's more likely a hardware issue. It's a good option to get in touch with the hardware support.

Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse is working intermittently.

Hi,

(Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10).

The mouse was working on fine before, but I haven't used it in a while.

Now when dragging the mouse it would stutter (stop/roll/stop/roll...), I looked at the LED tracking light under the mouse and the blue LED is blinking. I think that this is the problem.

I have tried:

1. Replacing the batteries.

2. Uninstall/reinstall the bluetooth driver and with the most recent driver.

3. Uninstall/reinstall Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse driver (Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center V.3).

4. I have scoured the net but and tried everything suggested but didn't solve the problem.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated drivers, try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to uninstall the mouse drivers.

• Right click on Windows key,
  select Device Manager.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right click on each of the drivers and click on
  Uninstall.

Step 2: Manually install the mouse drivers from the link below.
