Windows 10: Microsoft Photos isn't working and wverytime i try to edit a Photo to fit on my lock screen...

I have tried all of the below but every time i open photos and select the image and click edit the app crashes and nothing happens. Is this a me issue or a Microsoft issue?1. Right-click the image, then click Edit. I will launch Paint.2. Click Home.3. Click Resize. Make sure that Maintain aspect ratio is checked.4. Reduced the percentage size by changing the Horizontal and Vertical until you determine that it will fit on your lock screen.After that, you can edit the image to fit in your lock screen by performing the steps below:1. One reason why your lock screen photo is cut off is possibly because of its orientation/photo size. Most of the photos that are on the portrait orientation do not fit the screen causing it to be as if it was cut off or deleted. We suggest that you select a
lock screen photo with a landscape orientation and see if it fits your screen.

Automatic Update Made Photo Editing Not Work Correctly

This is NOT solved--just fixed.
Microsoft ran an automated update a couple of days ago and now photo editing is not working the way it did previously. I shoot a lot of photos for a local news website and after editing, saved them with new names that help me sort--so, for example, football photos might be F1, f2, etc. After the update, when i edit a photo, it saves only as a copy of the original name (IMG4028, for example, so I get IMG4028(2). Only after I do that, do I get the "save as" option back, which means i either give up my naming convention or have two or more copies of everything.
Any suggestions? The "save as" option does not appear in the first step anymore.

ADDED: It's the software that came bundled with the Windows 10 Edge computer--it's just the Photos app.
