Windows 10: Microsoft Photos - Can't save trimmed video as a copy

Hi...having trouble with Microsoft Photos. I am running Windows 10. See screenshot for version/build.




I am trying to trim some video clips that I created and imported from my device to this computer with a usb drive. I can view the video clip in MS Photos and trim it, but I can't save it. I get this error message:



It is a new/refurbished computer, and I am the only account on the computer. I am logged in as Administrator. I can edit photos and crop them etc, and save them from photos. It just seems to be the videos that are giving me fits. Once I trim the clip, I click the Save As button on the upper right and try saving it as "newName" to my desktop (and have tried other folders) and I keep getting this same error message. Anyone have any help for this??

Error saving a trimmed portion of a video using Microsoft Photo

Hello, I'm trying to trim a video using Microsoft Photo, I select the prtion I want to sabe using the start and end White dots, butr when I sabe it the trimmed video shows 0 KBs as shown below

Can somebody help? Can't figure out what the problem is as the process is pretty staight forward, and don't have many options, only a "Save Copy" button.

trim video

in the photos app, drag the white circle from the left side to trim off the beginning of the video, you should see the video change as you do it.

Drag the white circle from the right side to trim off the ending.

it will not allow you to trim the video to less than 1 second

you can play the video at any time to see what remains after trimming.

when you are happy with the result click save a copy in the top right of the screen or right click anywhere and select save a copy, it will be saved in the original location with trim added to the filename.

 

Suddenly I couldn't trim videos in Microsoft Photos

I'm using windows 10 and I used to be able to trim videos with ease with no loss of quality using Microsoft Photos on a frequent basis. But suddenly one day the trim feature in Photos stopped working.

Every time after I establish the start/end pointers and press "Save a copy", the semi-transparent gray bar used to be gradually filled with blue to indicate the processing of the trimmed video, but now the gray bar remains static, and the supposedly trimmed
videos becomes a corrupted file with 0 byte. When I open the file it just says

Can't Play

This file isn’t playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt.

I'm youtube content creator and I record my gameplay to edit them. Now having to go through a time consuming 3rd party app to trim my recordings is extremely inconvenient. I tried resetting the app, uninstalled and re-installed it but the Photos app still
can't trim a video. I really hope you can send a solution as soon as possible, thank you.
