Microsoft photos app not working after win 11 update its showing error copy to clipboard we tried reinstallingchecked all windows updatesremoved appagain installRepair Photos Appreset appstill its not working Can you please suggest the step what we need do next so this issue will resolve I am waiting for your early and positive response

Hello Yang, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that the copy and paste function is not working with the photos app;

Initially I recommend that you try to clear the history of the clipboard;

Go to Settings > System > Clipboard;

Under Clear clipboard data, click Clear;

Try resetting the Photos app;

Press Windows key + i and go to Apps;

Click Installed apps;

Locate the Photos app and click on the three dots on the right to access Advanced Options;

Scroll down the page and click on Reset;

Run System File Checker;

Click on the Windows search bar and type: CMD

The search result for CMD (Command Prompt) will be displayed, click Run as administrator;

Copy and paste the commands below by pressing Enter after typing each command line:

Sfc /ScanNow

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Check if the problem is fixed;

Why do my photos show up in the microsoft app but not in my pictures folder?

This issue might occur if there is change in photo app settings.



To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• When you say that "microsoft app", are you referring to photos app?
• Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to check the source file for photos app and also copy the picture from external device.



Step 1: I recommend you check the source file settings in the photos app settings and check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Then type "Photos" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Click on Settings on the bottom left corner of the Photos app.

4. Then check if under Sources, pictures directory is present or not.



Step 2: I suggest you to directly copy and paste the picture from the external device into the computer.

Thank you Luiz for the help.

The problem still persists even re-install the Photos App.

I found that even i Ctrl+C the image at the google chrome, it also will "copy to clipboard" and directly show into my Word clipboard.





It seem like problem on my window setting , Copy or "CTRL+C" keyboard command will perform "Copy to Clipboard" action.
But i couldn't find how to modify this keyboard command.

Any idea for windows 11?
