Windows 10: Microphone Levels in properties are blankWindows 10

I just bought a new mic for my computer a laptop. The problem is that the microphone is not working. Windows detect it correctly but when I look at my mic volume in "Settings" is set to 0 and will not change because as soon as I try to set it to another level of volume it will instantly set back to 0. When I check my microphone properties and go to "Levels" this section is completly blank.The micrphone is a MMICPRO, from Mars Gaming.Ive updated all drivers and tried almost everything and still dont know how to fix this.

Headphones' Microphone Volume Under the "Levels" Tab Disappeared

We suggest that you check the following steps on how to raise the mic volume:

• Check the Speaker icon on the system tray. Right click on it and choose "Recording Devices" menu.
  
• This will show Sound window. Go to Recording tab of Sound window, you will notice the microphone which is active that has a green check mark. Right click on the active microphone and select "Properties".
  
• You will now see Microphone Properties window. Go to the
  Levels tab and you will now see Microphone and
  Microphone Boost. You can use the sliders to modify your volume settings. Click
  OK button to save changes.

Easy enable/disable microphone?

My bro just got a microphone and I was wondering if there's an easy way to enable or disable it. I know you can right click on the volume icon, click on select recording devices then select the microphone, then click properties, then click on levels, and mute it - but that's just way too many steps, I'm looking for a more obvious and much easier way to do it.

Please answer the below questions to asisit you better.

1. Did you make any changes in the microphone settings prior to this issue?

2. Are you getting any error message or error code?

I would suggest you to plug the same microphone to some other computer and check if it is still in a working condition.
If it works fine in other computer then plug it to a different microphone jack and then follow the steps given below.

Method 1: Run the Audio Troubleshooter on the system

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the playing Audio troubleshooter

Method 2 : Change the levels of the microphone and check if the issue persists.

• Right click on volume control and choose Recording devices.
• Choose your microphone, click properties.
  
• You will have a Levels tab, where you can adjust the input level of the microphone to increase the sound level.
