    Messed up my keyboard, how do I fix it? Windows 11


    New HP Laptop, I've had it about a week. Windows 11.I hit something, no idea what. Now the keyboard won't type text. Instead, every key does its function. So as an example, I type t and it opens a new tab in the browser. Had to go back to my old small backup device to get on here and ask for help. I tried shutting down, waiting 1 minute, then starting up again. Nope.Can someone please tell me step by step how to fix this? Thank you.

    Fixing Windows 11

    Let's say I changed something on the Windows 11 regedit, and I messed up, If I wanna fix it, can I fix it by resetting my PC, not a factory reset, just a regular reset, will the regular reset fix the mistake? These are the steps I wanna take in a regular reset if I mess up smething on my OS. Remove Everything, Cloud Re-Install of Windows, remove all data, and I'm talking about Windows 11 Pro. Will regular resetting my Windows 11 Pro OS fix any change or mess ups on my regedit?

    Windows 11 Cannot change keyboard input to Japanese IME

    The fixes for Windows 11 are the same as for WIndows 10. Windows 11 is almost exactly the same operating system as WIndows 11 with just a GUI refresh. I only included a Windows 7 fix because it is working for others in newer editions. too.

    The Windows Report fixes I gave you in my first post have worked for many. Where are the results I asked you to post back for each of those fixes, so I know what else to suggest?

    Keyboard language mess up

    Hi Julie,

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community Forums.

    • What is the make and model of the computer?
    • When you say that your preferred keyboard language disappeared or was deleted, did you try reinstalling it?
    • If yes, were you able to reinstall it?
    • If No, what happens when you try to reinstall it or any other keyboard language?

    Kindly provide some more details so that we can suggest the appropriate troubleshooting steps.

    Meanwhile, make sure that Windows is up to date. I would suggest to create a new user account and see if you can add/remove the keyboard languages.

    Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10
