Windows 10: Memory Management BOD System Crash

Hi all,


I have a Surface Pro 7 8gb RAM running Windows 10 and have experienced this blue screen of death Memory Management a couple of times these past months. Noticeably, it has happened more on Zoom calls where the system would crash completely.


Do you think this is a RAM issue I notice on task manager than cpu ram hovers around 70-80%? Anything I can test for?


I've done the memory diagnostic and it has come back with no issues. Thank you all!

Memory Management Crash


Generally speaking, which is also this time the case, the 0x1A crash doesn't show a specific cause.
Causes are

• drivers
• memory
• vram
• hard drive

The dump doesn't point directly to anything, but based on the causes I've mentioned and a few things in the dump there is a chance the drives are involved in it.

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

System Reserved Memory issue

The reduction in available system memory depends on the configuration of the following:

• The devices that are installed in the computer and the memory that is reserved by those devices
• The ability of the motherboard to handle memory
• The system BIOS version and settings
• The version of Windows 10 that is installed
• Other system settings

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest that you check your system for memory problems.

Here's how:

• Type mdsched.exe in the search bar and select the best match.
• When prompted by the User Account Control, enter an admin user name and password, and click
  Yes.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run it.
