Windows 10: Media player will not let me skip 30 seconds forward or skip 10 seconds backwards and is...

it also doesn't let me move the bar as it is grayed out as well I have tried reinstalling but nothing works

I wanted to inform you that the application is designed in such a way that by default it will Skip forward/backward by 30 seconds.

My problem is that I have almost 3 Terabytes of video footage that I'm trying to skim through as quickly and
thoroughly as possible. And 30 seconds skips over too much that I may miss and want to cut out/edit.

So I was hoping to get a reply/solution for this. Maybe a way to go into the code of the program to tweak just the skip length OR maybe a different program I can use similar to Movies & TV/ Windows Media Player that
would allow me to do this.

Any and all help is appreciated.

P.S. I like the Movies & TV app so would like to continue using it if that one feature can be added in there.

Media Player skips forward in middle of song

The podcast that is always happens with is NPRs Car Talk, http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast.php?id=510208. It is weekly, and it happened to all of the ones that I have listened to (usually just after the last weeks puzzler but the time afterward varies slightly).
It also occurs with EconTalk (EconTalk Podcast Archive - Econlib), again weekly and it has happened with multiple episodes but not all of them. It also happen occasionaly with 3 to 5 minute songs of various artists. I haven't kept track of which ones.

It seems unlikely that there is a problem with the encoding of the files or something hidden in the file that is tripping media player to skip to the next track because if the player skips to the next song at 15:00 one time and I come back, fast forward to
14:30 and continue listening through 15:00 the player will not skip at 15:00 again. It may skip at 25:00 or 35:00 but it doesn't happen at the same time or time interval each time.

 

Media skip controls reversed ?

I have an interesting problem Ive already searched around and cant find a solution,
On my Zotac Z-Box Nano AD-10 running Win7 the media keys for skip forward and back are reversed on all remotes except the IR remote in all media players.
Meaning when I press skip forward it skips back and back button skips forward, other controls work fine.

This happens with my mini keyboards media keys, Unified Remote for Android and if I plug a full size keyboard in that has media keys.
This leads me to believe that for whatever reason the drivers for IR remote that i don't use
Changed the settings in Windows for keys on media remotes.

My question is where do i need to go to revert the changes registry, driver .inf ?
