Windows 10: maxtor 3200 install on windows 10 code 10 driver error solution

Is there a driver for my Maxtor 3200 USB hard drive to work with windows 10?

My Maxtor 3200 USB hard drive will not work since upgrading to windows 10.

Is there a driver available that works with windows 10?

 

Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 Windows 10 not working

I just installed windows 10 and windows is saying usb is not recognized for the Maxtor 3200.

I opened the device manager and unistalled it then reinstalled still the same problem.

 

Is there anyway to get the Maxtor 3200 External Hard Drive to work on Windows 10

Hey! I have a Maxtor 3200 that DOES connect to Windows 7 and now it WILL connect to Windows 10! It previously did not let me access contents with Windows 10. I had been searching forums off and on for months and finally found something that works. I'm not
even going to pretend like I know what I'm doing here, but that is besides the point since it now WORKS with Windows 10! Like many others, I could see the Maxtor 3200 listed, but it would not show up in File Explorer. Here is what I did:

1) Downloaded Ricoh Media Driver v2.22.18.01

2) Restarted computer as suggested by the Ricoh download

3) Leaving the the Maxter 3200 plugged into the computer -- and as suggested in this forum -- I unplugged the power to the Maxtor 3200 and plugged back in until it showed up in the File Explorer (approximately four times) and VOILA! I can access 100 GB of
Music, Movies, and who knows what else that has been saved since 2008. Can't say that one step is more important in this process than the other, this is just what I did and again, IT WORKED!

This is one of many problems I have had with Windows 10 -- from Outlook, to Word, to Windows 10 not bringing things to the foreground, and plenty of other quirky stuff Microsoft Techs couldn't really fix. It has been other users fiddling around that has
got me success with the troubling experience that is Windows 10. I'm a student working on my degree in social services, but sometimes I feel like an IT student because of all the Googling I do to learn Windows 10 -- technology, huh? I'm not stupid with technology,
but Windows 10 has made me feel stoopid. Sorry for the verbose post, but boy am I one happy camper and just wanted to share!
