Windows 10: Managing Taskbar Application Shortcuts with #'s following their Name, such as Word 2

The Windows 11 application shortcuts in my taskbar are mostly but not all numbered with "2" following their name. How do I find those that would be the 1's and delete them? Would doing so reset those in the taskbar without a number?A trivial issue but a teaching moment?Thanks for any help.
