  1. Lost connectivity to NAS drives as mapped drives

I can no longer access NAS devices. I have 2 NAS: Synology DS420+ and WDEX4100, that I have been using for several years, mapped to Y and Z respectively. A couple days ago, I lost connectivity. Came in to my office in the morning and the drives were gone from File Explorer. I cannot get them back. I have tried net use dive letter: "\\xxx.xxx.x.xxx\sharename" /user:"password" /persistent:Yes, but despite receiving the "success' message, the letters do not show up in FE, Disk Management, like they once did. Credential Manager shows the IP address, but I cannot access them. I can access eac

Connecting NAS - mapping of drives

OK ... step by step all worked. I have now mapped the 2 volumes as Y & Z and can access the files on them Any idea why the Command line would work yet the Easy Find Utility that has worked for years does not ?

Connecting NAS - mapping of drives

Ok, If you want, we can do a step by step troubleshooting of your current situation: If you are able to ping your Machine and it responds. Code:
Try to view if your NAS appears on the Network List: Code:
If Your NAS appears on the list, try to view it: Code:
The available shares will be listed there. Then Try to List the content of one of the directories: Code:
This should list the content of the directory, If all this works Try to map a drive on one share: Code:
Pls reply with the "response" of the first "encounter" of a non positive output. This exercise should reveal if you have a Network or Protocol or Cipher or Authentication problem.

Connecting NAS - mapping of drives

@sygnus21, Yes of course, but I when directly to the NAS manual and OP Specific machine will never support anything else.... That is mostly why I suggested FTP instead of SMB, to avoid having to install SMB1.
Are you able to map your drives now ?
