Windows 10: Long snipping tool recording stopped and didn't save

Hello! I was recording a long video of different clips I have using snipping tool, recording, pausing the recording and playing it once i found a new clip. So it was all one long video of many different clips. I realize now it wasn't very smart of me not to save it, but I was just working on autopilot. It was about an hour and fifteen minutes, when it just closed and didn't save. Its not in my screen recording folder, and tried looking in my appdata folder as a similar answers thread suggested it wasn't there. they suggested going to this: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.ScreenSketch_8wek

Unable to record screen using Snipping Tool.

When attempting to start a screen recording using the Snipping Tool, the recording process halts abruptly. An error message is displayed, stating: "Recording stopped. Something happened and we have stopped recording." (Image)

This issue occurs every time I try to initiate a screen recording, making it impossible to capture and save any screen activity. It disrupts my workflow and prevents me from using the Snipping Tool's recording functionality as intended.

 

Can't screen record with snipping tool.

When I try to screen record with the snipping tool, it loads for a couple of seconds and then denies me. Any suggestions?

Snip Tool won't save directly

My snip tool won't save snips at all unless I manually go into the snip tool and save it from there. I'm running Windows 11.

I have all of these enabled:

• Snipping tool notifications
  
• Use the Print screen button to open screen snipping
  
• Save Snips
  

I've created a new user profile, turned off and on all those various settings, updated my computer fully, and rebooted.

I talked with someone in tech support at length but he was stumped too since I have the "Save Snips" option enabled.
