Windows 10: Locked out for 2 hours, kept the power on for the time but it's not doing anything

There is also a challenge phrase I must enter before I can input my pin, there is no additional sign in options, I tried resetting from local as a last resort but it seems the account associated with my laptop has not been removed and I still need to put in the pin

By the way, if you wish to
remove the password protection of your computer, you need to change the Power options setting
to disable the auto-locking of the screen. Let’s try the following steps and check:

  Type
  Power from the Search box and select
  Power Options.
  
• 
  SelectRequire a
  password on wakeupfrom the left side options.
  
• 
  Under
  Password protection on wakeup, select Don't require a password.

Windows is locked out for 2 hours even if Lockout Policy is changed

My laptop got locked out for 2 hours after a sudden shutdown due to shortage of battery power. I read online and changed the Lockout Policy. Still the next time my laptop ran out of battery and shut down suddenly, i still got locked out for 2 hours. Is there anyway to change or remove the lockout time for sudden shutdowns?

You can fix this issue by changing the Screen time out settings value to desired one. Follow the below mentioned steps and check if it helps you.

• Press or Click Start
• Navigate to Settings />System />Power & sleep
  
• Under Screen section, change the value as required. (I.e. 1 hour or 2 hours)

Going forward the lock screen will fall out as per the timing set out there.
