Windows 10: Local Security Authority protection is "off" but it isn't

    Local Security Authority protection is "off" but it isn't


    Windows Security alerted me that Local Security Authority protection was off, so I turned it on and restarted my PC. After the restart, the notification still indicates that "Local Security Authority protection is off" even though selector is in the "on" position. The yellow text above the LSA still indicates that "this change requires you to restart your device". LOL I've restarted it 4 times now and the notification its still there.

    Local Security Authority protection Bug?

    Open an admin Command Prompt and run these two commands:

    • reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa" /v "RunAsPPL" /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
    • reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa" /v "RunAsPPLBoot" /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
    Restart Windows. That should clear the yellow exclamation warning.

    Here's the easy fix:

    Alternatively, open an admin Command Prompt and run these two commands:
