Windows 10: Lenovo laptop cannot go to sleep.

My laptop cannot go to sleep. When I tap on the sleep option next to shut down/restart, the PC automatically wakes up. I've tried every solution. Disabling sleep timers, etc. etc.I think the issue is that due to a minor liquid spillage, my built-in keyboard spam-inputs keystrokes. I've disabled/removed the PS/2 Keyboard from my Devices, so it doesn't cause many major issues. However, I can't make the laptop go to sleep. Apart from when folding the laptop upI'm afraid of removing the drivers, since I've heard it's an essential part of the system, and it would cause major issues/corruption.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried the two steps (turning of Hybrid sleep and Fast startup) you suggested but to no avail. Okay, for your two questions:

1. My laptop is a HP Pavilion 14-bf101tx, and currently running Windows 10 1903 (upgrading from 1809).
2. Nope. No error messages. I suppose the boot process was successful, however, my battery was reduced. That's why I suggest the post title as "Hibernating changes to sleep behaviour" because the battery level reduction looks like sleep behaviour.

Please inform me of any diagnostics information you might need. Thank you for your kind assistance.

 

Lenovo z580 not entering in sleep with lid closed

It started 2 days ago? Can you remember what have you installed during those 2 days? Any particular event? You could check, just in case, from the batery icon on the tray-> more power options->choose what closing the lid does. I have Lenovo, but I don't use their power management app. I can't remember the options, but there are a decent amount. Go through them one by one and see if you have missed something. Last, but not least you could update your BIOS- I do it all the time with my Lenovo. They realease new versions here and there and so far from what I have seen, they bring benefits to my experience. I strongly suggest that you check their web site with your laptop service tag. (often in the patch notes they mention "sleep" issues and blackscreens after resuming)
