Windows 10: LDAC and AAC working on Win 10 22H2

AAC still planned on win 10?

Hello,

Has Microsoft completely abandoned AAC for Bluetooth devices on windows 10?

I know a lot of media reported spring of last year that AAC was coming to Win 10, but nothing has been heard of since.

Is it just me or does it seem that windows 10 is starting to be neglected in order to push users to Win 11, even though a large portion of the user base doesn't meet the requirements? My understanding is that AAC was working just fine on the insider builds but was stripped before release of 21h2.

My system is a ThinkPad x1 extreme gen 1 (not compatible with win 11).

Playback iTunes AAC media file

I am a mac user syncing my Samsung Focus with an iTunes playlist using Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. Everything syncs fine...my videos sync and play and my mp3 files sync and play fine. But any AAC files sync fine but when I try to
play them on the phone I get an error message "Can't Play. Try signing in with your Windows Live ID or try syncing again". I have converted all Apple lossless AAC file to general AAC files. I have removed media files and added them back. I have done a factory
reset of the phone. None of these things have worked for playback. I have spent hours with Samsung and Microsoft. Any suggestions?

 

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2
