Windows 10: Laptop only works when plugged in, shuts down when unplugged

My laptop is about 2 years old , yesterday it had nothing wrong, it charges normally to 100%, i updated a game and when it finished i ran it and the laptop shut down. its a lenovo ideapad 5 and it doesnt have a removable battery. when i turn it on, it says its at 46% battery and does not get past that.

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

• Unplug Laptop
• Remove the Battery
• Plug in Laptop and turn on the laptop
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and uninstall all instances of Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
• Shut down Laptop and unplug it
• Insert Battery and plug in the laptop
• Start the Laptop

My laptop shuts down as soon as I unplug my charger.

I tried the below method of troubleshooting:

Unplug your Laptop and remove the battery

Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds

Plug your laptop back in and replace the Battery

Start your PC.

When I perform the above steps and then remove the charger, the laptop works fine on battery.

However, when I plug in in again and then remove the charger it shuts down again.

And I have to repeat the procedure again to use it on battery.

How can I permanently fix this issue?

 

Can't adjust brightness when the power plugged or unplugged

Hi there,

• Previous status:

brightness 100%, plugged in; brightness 50%, unplugged.

When I unplugged the laptop, the brightness will decrease down to 50%. And will increase back to 100% when the laptop plugged in back automatically.

• Current status:

Always keep the last brightness setting, no matter laptop plugged in or unplugged, the brightness doesn't change.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks!
