How to connect external display to the dedicated GPU instead of integrated GPU in laptop

My laptop is asus tuf A15 using ryzen 7 4800h and Nvdia 3050. It seems that if i connect my external display to the only hdmi available in the laptop it will connect to the integrated GPU and therefore the settings will be in the amd software only and wouldn't show in the nvdia control panel. This prevented me from using g-sync and other settings that nvdia control panel has to offer. I still don't know if the problem is my laptop or something to do with the drivers.

  3. Can Not Get My New Laptop To Use My NVDIA Graphics Card

I just bought a Lenovo Edge 2 Laptop and am new to Windows coming over from Mac. Here are the specs to help you. Intel Core i7 6500u, Integrated Intel Graphics, NVDIA 940M 2GB Discrete Graphics Card, 8 GB Ram and 1 TB HDD. The problem I am having is
that the only GPU that my system is using is the Intel integrated graphics. I have tried updating drivers for both the Intel and NVDIA GPUs. I have went into the "Power" and "Display" settings and set them for "High Performance" and lastly I have I changed
the settings in the NVDIA Control Panel to default to the NVDIA Card and nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas?? Thanks for your help.

    Laptop NVDIA gpu stopped working

    Windows 10 & NVdia GPUs

This post could seem already discussed but I do not think so. At least not in these exact terms.

I have had to re-enable the NVdia chip as preferred Graphics Processor after *every* update of Windows 10, no matter if it was a new mainstream version or a beta/test/whatever version from the Insider Preview Channel. This is very annoying but it is something
that I think is well known now.

Occasionally, with updates coming through the Preview Channel, I have become unable to use the NVidia chip right after the installation of a Preview version, but after a couple of restarts the graphic card has magically been able to work again. I have no
clue why this happens, but it is still tolerable

More rarely, the graphic chip was not working even after a couple of restarts, but it returned to work correctly in one or two days after a minor bug fix version of Windows 10. In other cases, I could fix the problem advancing to the next available version
of the drivers from NVidia. Again, no clue of the exact reasons.

Now, as of today, with the latest updates from the Preview Channel (I am currently using the build 15014 but the same happened also with the previous build) I am no more able to use the NVidia GPU for 3D graphics, neither after installing any one of the
latest 3 versions of the drivers provided by NVdia.

I have waited the announcement, installment and test of a new build, being hopeful that the problem would have been automatically fixed, but this time neither the new build has cleared the issue.

I do not know if there is any team at NVdia or Microsoft that is in charge of verifying if the 3D works on NVidia graphics before to deliver a new build, but maybe one should be in order.

I hope this post can start a specific thread on this issue that I think is interesting to many common Windows users.

Very basic system information, for the computer on which I keep testing the Insider Preview builds:

    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200M CPU @ 2.50GHz (2494.21 MHz)

    Memory: 8073 MB

OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (Build 15014) (home version, upgraded from Windows 8.1 Professional)

GPU: NVidia GT 750M, driver version 376.60, dedicated memory 4096 MB DDR3
