  1. KB4072698: Windows Server and Azure Stack HCI guidance to protect against silicon-based...

Hi everyone,Hope someone can help me clarify on this, our security team has started to use a new tool called Tenable, and all of a sudden they started to pick up almost all the servers, even server 2022, saying below 2 keys are either missing or need to be configured to the recommended setting. I am very confused about this, I remembered this was back in 2017 or 2019; it's been a long time. Is it still necessary at year 2025? All our servers are fully patched to date.reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverride /t

  2. Registry Entries Reverting - Windows Speculative Execution Configuration Check

My VM team has run into a wall remediating a vulnerability for Windows Speculative Execution Configuration Check. After applying the fix to the registry to correct, we found that the registry entries kept reverting after the server reboots. We validated that there's no GPO in place causing the reversion. We tried going through Powershell instead of the GUI to make the change, per suggestion from an article in the Tenable community (Tenable Community). Is there a known other cause of the reversion or workaround for it?

  3. Migration of 2012R2 VMs from a 2012R2 DC server stack into Azure HCI stack

My old VM stack hosts are running 2012R2 DC with VMs running 2012R2.

I now have a new Azure HCI 2022 server stack that I'm moving the 2012R2 VMs to (will upgrade VMs OS later). Every 2012R2 VM now tells me to activate Windows. How do I fix this?
