Windows 10: Jammed up by pending security info change

I started setting up a new PC with Windows 11. My security info email is now obsolete so I requested a new one and started the 30 day cycle. My account and password work, so I continued the setup.But running Windows update on the PC flashed the BIOS and wiped out the PIN. So when it rebooted, it tells me to reset the Hello PIN but then won't let me do it because it wants to use the security info email. It was the Windows Update that made the change. Do I really have to wait 30 days to use this PC? Is there no way to set up a new PIN?

Your security info change is still pending, this window pops up when I try to log in to my Microsoft account, I try to cancel this security lock but it is not working. Any ideas on how to unlock or remove this?

I requested to have my security info changed in April 2014 because I was going to delete the email account that was listed as an "alternate email".

Microsoft said that it would be changed in May 2014. As of October 2016 it is still not fixed. I contacted Microsoft Support, not once, not twice, but three times, and each time they said it was fixed and now I had the new email account listed as the alternate
email. This wasn't true, and I still have the old email listed. Microsoft will not let me say I did not request this change, and they won't let me cancel the request.

I have had this account for 8 years and I really do not want to get a new one.

MICROSOFT, PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE LIKE YOU SAID YOU HAVE BUT YOU REALLY HAVEN'T!

This message is shown when all the security info (such as alternate contact methods) that you previously added to your account was removed and replaced with new info and you need to wait 30-days for the changes to take effect.

There are still things you may be able to do with your account, but in most cases, you won't be able to access any Microsoft site that asks for this security verification info.

There is nothing that you can do to expedite the 30-day process, the only option is to cancel the request. You can see how to do it at this link.
