Windows 10: It is now January 2025 and still having the same Windows 10 update problem with Windows 10...

Was just informed via Windows update that I had a WIndows 10 update pending: 2024-11 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5048239, so I tried installing it. It says "Installing", never moves off "0%", then errors out with Error0x80070643. This has been an ongoing problem with this type of update for at least a year. Is anyone actually taking the time to fix this problem with the Windows Recovery Partition or are we stuck with this error until we're forced to update to Windows 11? I pulled up the history on this error and it shows the same thing happening to

If you have to reinstall an OS, I'd try clean Windows 10. It should fix it.

Windows 8.1 will only get mainstream support for another six months (January 9, 2018) and will not get any updates after January 10, 2023.


My guess is you have some other software running from Windows 8.1 which is continuing to run in Windows 10 that is having unintended consequences. This problem you're describing is not something that's a known issue with Windows 10.

i have a clean install of windows 10.

it started after windows updated to something.

then first my mouse stopped working and got detected as a keyboard. I had to reinstall the drivers to make it work again. Since then this is happening.

Let me try uninstalling the updates.

 

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
