Windows 10: Issues with Brother Full Driver & Software Package Installation on Windows 11

Dear Sir/Madam,I recently purchased a new computer and have encountered difficulties when attempting to install the Brother Full Driver & Software Package. When I initiate the installation, nothing transpires; the installation program doesn't launch. I've tried manually initiating both "start.exe" and "InstUI.exe" and even opted to "Run as Administrator," yet still no response or activation of the installation process.To troubleshoot, I followed the steps to boot the PC in Clean Boot mode, as outlined in a previous thread on your forum, but regrettably, this didn't offer a solution. I have the same issue as described in "installation of driver for wireless connection of Brother MFC-7860DW in Windows 11" but as this discussion is locked I can't reply to it.

This email is addressed to all users who have the Brother MFC-7360N printer. Even though the Brother website has this printer's software and driver listed for Windows 11, its BrUsbSib.sys driver is not compatible with Windows 11. After two Brother agents swore to me that the printer is compatible with Windows 11, another agent finally admitted it was not. Brother is not planning to update the driver for compatibility so users will only be able to use Windows 10 OR DO what I did, which also worked. First of all, I contacted Microsoft and though the agent was not able to find and delete the incompatible driver, it was able to force Memory Integrity back on. Then on the Brother's website I downloaded the software and driver package for Windows 11 for this printer. I got a message that the driver BrUsbSib.sys driver cannot be installed because of a Windows Security feature (which is the Memory Integrity feature). Just below the printer software and driver for Windows 11 is listed the "printer driver and scanner driver." I installed that as well and then the printer worked in Windows 11. In the Control Panel I added the printer manually and it said that there is a driver error, but I have been able to ignore all that and print as usual. Hopefully, I will not have any further problems. What a major hassle and a major disappointment that Brother is not admitting readily to this problem or will be fixing it.

I give up - my will has been broken!!! Even though both the Drivers tab in Print Server Properties and Uninstall a Program in Control Panel show nothing relating to the Brother device, I still cannot turn on Memory Integrity in Device Security because Windows says that the incompatible BrUsbSib.sys driver is still installed. I used my old laptop for 8 years because I dreaded all the time I would have to spend setting up a new laptop. I never thought that I would have to spend so much time trying to install driver and software for the Brother MFC-7860DW device onto my new laptop and then to uninstall the Brother driver and software from it so that I can turn back on Memory Integrity. Ironically, I have ended up in this predicament because the Microsoft Program Compatibility Assistant made the following suggestions in the event of a failed installation due to an incompatible driver: (1) find an updated, compatible driver through Windows Update or the driver manufacturer (which is not applicable in this case); or (2) temporarily turn off Memory Integrity, install the driver/software, and then turn back on Memory Integrity (the third step has failed due to installation of, and inability to uninstall, an incompatible driver!).

I will try to re-install the driver and software package for MFC-7860DW with Memory Integrity turned off. I hope that my attempt to completely uninstall the driver and software package will not mess up re-installation of the package.
