Issues installing KB5041580 / Check if IPv6 security fix is applied?

Hi,I have issues installing KB5041580 and I'm worried I'm still vulnerable to the IPv6 issue. Here is what I did:First, Windows Update History said it installed KB5041580 on August 24 successfully but failed to install it on August 28 - which is weird, right? The update is also not listed in the "Uninstall updates" section. The error 0x800f0900 suggests I should scan my system so I basically followed the instructions from:https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/install-error-0x800f0900/98db652a-9a5e-47d2-8bca-0601df232b50sfc complained about one corrupt system file, but it was only

  2. Google ipv6 security bug

Can someone please inform google about these 2 bugs.

    1. Google ipv6 0.0.0.0 error.
    How to duplicate.
win7 + any web browser, firefox works best "3.6.18" , gogoclient for ipv6 tunneling and a internet connection.
Install gogoclient let it create the virtual adapter, restart and only let the virtual adapter do the ipv6 tunneling not the gogoclient software. (So disable start with pc option)
Open gmail.com with firefox 3.6.18 and login.
Next you will see a error "is it really you" DUH yes it is me trying to sign in.
    2. Just refresh the page to skip the stupid google question / bypass the security question.
Sometimes it works here to bypass and get into your gmail. Major security wow.

If you get stuck with this above, disable the gogoclient virtual adapter in win7 networking and close firefox and open it again.

Login to gmail.com with gogoclient software disabled and disabled virtual adapter.
Next there is a error in red, "some freak tried to login to your gmail from 0.0.0.0, ignore or see solutions"
There it will show a list of login attempts from your pc with the incorrect 0.0.0.0 ip.

The ipv4 and ipv6 address is there but google claims you are at 0.0.0.0 LMAO @ google.
There must be a few more websites that is this stupid.

  3. Connectivity (IPv4/IPv6): Disconnected

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Ideally this Connectivity (IPv4/IPv6): Disconnected, means that the devices in not in use or not connected and it could be any device for example, Ethernet, WIFI, Bluetooth or Local Area Connection.

If you are using WI-FI for internet connection then Ethernet will show Connectivity (IPv4/IPv6): Disconnected.

In order to understand the issue and assist you accordingly, we need some information

    • What is your network setup?
    • Are you seeing any errors?
    • Where you are seeing this information?

Meanwhile, try the troubleshooting steps referred in this article:

Fix network connection issues in Windows
    and check if it works.

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
