Windows 10: Issue with Folder Names Reverting to Original Names When Moved in Windows 11 and Dropbox

Hello,I'm experiencing an issue with Windows 11 24H2 related to folder renaming.I have 10 folders originally named A1, A2, A3, etc., located inside a Dropbox folder. I renamed these folders to A1B, A2B, A3B, etc. However, when I move these folders to a new location on the same computer, their names revert to the original names A1, A2, A3, etc..Additionally, I zipped these folders and transferred them to a new computer. After extracting the zip file, the folders initially retain their new names A1B, A2B, A3B, etc.. However, when I move them to a new location on the new computer, their nam

Folder names changed after folder move

I have windows 10. I am working with pictures. I created a new file folder and moved about 30 other folders under the new folder. The 30 folders all had names I had created. After the move, all those folder name are gone and just the date of each file
folder is there. I tried undoing, and it didn't bring back my folder names. Any suggestions? I have moved folders many times in the past, and this has never happened.

I understand that you are facing issues with changing the folder name under Users folder in Windows 10.

I suggest you to perform the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Open the File Explorer and double click on C drive.

2. Open Users folder from the list.

3. Click on the user name folder and then tap on F2 Key.

4. Change the name of the folder and hit on Enter Key.

5. It will ask for Administrator Permission and click on Ok.

6. Folder name will be changed.

Windows 10 search for a specific folder name and file name

Carlos: Thanks for your reply. What you suggest is what I have been doing. I search for folders with a specific name and get a list. Then I have to search each folder for a specific file. So it's a two step search and that's what I was trying to avoid.

I assume there are applications out there that allow for an "AND" search in Windows. I'll try that approach.
