Windows 10: Is there any heic viewer recommended for windows 11?

Hi, all, I recently had some trouble opening HEIC file on Windows 11 computer. Because the default photo format of my phone iPhone 15 Pro Max is HEIC, and Windows 11 cannot directly open HEIC file, the system will prompt you to install an additional HEVC/HEIC plug-in, but this plug-in is charged. So I would like to ask everyone, is there any safe and best HEIC viewer tool on Windows 11? I hope to find a best HEIC viewer, which needs to meet the following conditions: Free or one-time payment: I don’t want to subscribe to the software for a simple viewing function. Hi Sumit, thanks for the reply.

Your suggestion is another viewer for the .heic format, which I will go for if I need to do Batch Conversions.

My main, rather pressing, question is more towards a blanket add-on for all other software/programmes/Apps that do already read .jpg, .png, .gif (and so on). How can .heic be added to the list of file formats for all of them? Or is that a matter of the software producer, on a one-by-one basis? Like I mentioned before, I use a 'very small' cataloguing software which incorporates photos and the programmer/software owner replied that it is a matter of Windows and not individual software.

Am I on the right track to understand this?

PowerToys changes format to HEIC

- Installed PowerToys to Windows 11.

- Took photos that were transferred from iPhone to Windows 11 and resized them.

- Photos has a HEIC format but opened fine on Laptop.

- Checked PowerToys settings, and Image Resizer settings but couldn't find anything to suggest that they should be changed to HEIC,

Was it just a false positive? As in they are actually jpg but it says HEIC because they were transferred from an iPhone.
