Windows 10: Is there a way to watch movies purchased on XBox on a laptop?

Hello everyone,A few years ago I purchased a number of movies on my Xbox. Today I tried to watch one of them on my laptop, after which Microsoft redirected me to a platform called ''Movies Anywhere''. A rather ironic name, since I was not able to sign up for the platform because I live in Europe. I can purchase the movie again through the Microsoft store on my laptop, so they are available. Naturally, I'd rather not spend a lot of money on products I already own.Is there a way for me to access these movies on my laptop anyway without me purchasing them again?Thank you in advance.

Can you watch movies purchased on the Xbox on WP8 and Windows 8 devices?

I just wanted to know if you purchase a movie through Xbox Movies on the Xbox 360, can you then download and watch the movies on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices?

 

Can't download the movie I purchased for rental.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to download rented movies offline and check if that helps.

Steps:

1. Select the movie you want to rent and click on
   rent option.
2. Login using Microsoft account.
3. Once you have signed in, you will have two option
   to stream or download movies to this device to watch offline.
4. Select download movies to this device to watch offline and click on next.
5. After Choosing the Next option and you will be asked for the payment option.
6. Once the payment it done, open Movies & TV application to download the movie.

You will be able to watch the movie offline from
Movies and TV application. When you rent, the viewing period is 14 days from the time of your order or 24-48 hours from the time you start to watch (depending on the content you select), whichever comes first.



If you still facing issues downloading the movies after following the above steps. I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below, to fix issues with Microsoft store.



Steps:

• 1. Open store application on your pc.
  2. Click on the ellipses on right top corner of the screen.
  3. Logout and login back.

Saving movies I have purchased.

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

Once you purchase or rent movies from the Store, it will be added to Movie and TV app. So that you can watch them. It will be there forever if you buy the Movies and you need internet connection and a Microsoft account to watch, so you need to download on
the computer to watch offline.

• Quickly find, play, and manage your video library
• Watch videos in all the latest file formats
• Access the videos you’ve rented or purchased from the store.
• Play your rentals and purchased videos on your Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows, Windows Phone devices, and from the web.
