The folder contains some jpg photos from a couple of apps seemingly various sizes of logos for said apps. I noticed some new photos appeared once I opened the photos app for the first time on this PC I believe. I've seen some conflicting information on various forums, but most suggest its a windows related file, but others say its potentially malicious. I would appreciate if I could get some extra confirmation, thanks!

    :)

Can anyone tell me what this folder is used for?

    Here's the filepath:

    C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\PlaceholderTileLogoFolder

Unrelated question: I get the BSOD about once per week at odd times. Lenovo X1 Carbon Thinkpad purchased about a year ago.

Thanks for any feedback you can give!

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions

Where are the files for the store app located?

    Hi Yehuda,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. We understand the inconvenience caused and will assist you.

I would like to inform that the apps that are downloaded from Windows Store will be located in the location:

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages

To navigate to this location, you will have to unhide the hidden folders by following the steps provided below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Click on View and check the option for Hidden items.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.
