Windows 10: Is it safe to remove Dual Boot?

Hi everyone, Before I give myself another round of a headache, I want to make sure it's safe to do, so.Recently I had to reinstall my Windows10. The new system went to my new SSD, while I have the old one after a system reset, keys and mouse not working so I got rid of it on my old SSD. When turning on my PC, gives me the screen to choose which Windows I'd like to boot. I choose the new one, and boots as should. After the fresh install, I changed the Boot order, to the New SSD be the first option, but with that I got the error message of can't boot press enter or F8. My question is, is it

Dual boot

The license doesn't matter for a Dual Boot with Linux.

Can't safely remove external disk

In reference to the steps of your suggestions:

• The issue is specific to the particular disk and it started after I've used the disk to save the System image backup (created with the Control Panel > File History tool).
• I didn't disable any windows Service. I'm just wondering if there is any to disable.
• Safe boot with networking, or clean boot doesn't resolve the issue.

Dual Booting with Windows 8.1


The procedure below will allow you to boot Windows separately or in dual boot configuration.
Here's what I recommend to do:

1. Disconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
2. Install Windows 10 with one drive connected.
3. After step 2, reconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
4. Boot up Windows 8.1. Open disk management and take a note of the drive letter of Windows 10 OS.
   NOTE: if you boot up Windows 10, then take a note of Windows 8.1 drive letter
5. Open Admin command prompt and type: bcdboot X:\windows where X: is the drive letter of Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 if you boot from Windows 10 in step 4)
6. Reboot the PC. You should have a dual boot screen.

NOTE: To break off the dual boot setting, Win+R->msconfig->boot and delete the none default entry on the list.
