Windows 10: IPV4 Checksum Disabled

Hi,


My organization has an issue with the "No internet" notification but able to surf the internet smoothly. But there's one problem, whenever im trying to open outlook, it won't detect our MFA and it will say, "you're not connected to a network". that includes our Teams, Skype and any other application that requires MFA. i fixed this issue by turning off the IPV4 Checksum.


My question is


1. How does the IPV4 checksum relates to the "no internet" notification issue?

2. How does the Windows 10 OS detects whether there's internet or not?

3. Does it have anything to do with our organization GPO? Is there such GPO that might conflict with the IPV4 Checksum?

Windows 10 IPv4 Checksum Offload

I'm experiencing some odd phenomena with the IPv4 Checksum Offload on various Intel & Realtek NIC's for the past few months. The only way I can get rid of the yellow triangle over the network icon is to disable IPv4 Checksum Offload. It doesn't bother me
that the triangle is there but it doesn't allow OneNote, OneDrive, O365, etc to sync or validate activation and after any Win10 update it's re-enabled .....

Is there a port I need to open on the firewall?

 

Disable IPv4 from automatically being changed

Hello. I want to prevent the IPv4 address from automatically being changed.

I tried the following:

• This tutorial by Port Forward.
  
  After completing it, I receive the
  following fix for the error → According to the error, it disables DHCP for "Ethernet".
  
• This tutorial by Windows Tech Info.
• This tutorial by Notebook for Programmers.

My goal is to prevent from IPv4 to automatically change.

 

How to disable checksums on ethernet card in Windows 10?

• Open the Device Manager.
  
• Locate your network adapter.
  
• Right-click -> Properties.
  
• Advanced Tab.
  

What the options is called will vary based on the NIC manufacturer and may not even be available if the NIC's driver doesn't support it.

On my system (Realtek adapter) it's labelled "TCP Checksum Offload" and there's one for IPv4 and one for IPv6.





Other similar name: "Offload Transmit TCP Checksum".
