  1. Internet connectivity and BSOD

    Hi guys,

I've recently completed a new build PC, and all seemed to be going well until I finished updating Windows at which point my internet connectivity became patchy. I've tried both WiFi and ethernet connections with the same symptoms - basically, my browser (Chrome) will stop loading pages intermittently getting stuck at the 'Establishing secure connection' stage for all websites I try. As if by magic, it'll start working again perfectly a few minutes later. The icon in the system tray always reports a good internet connection, and I've never had big downloads stop 'mid-flow'. I've tried reinstalling Windows completely with the same result.

What's more, I've started getting the occasional BSOD on initial startup - the latest was a 'kernel mode heap corruption'. I have the minidumps from the crashes, but don't know where to start interrogating them. The PC always seems to boot second time round, and doesn't always do it initially.

I'm assuming this is some kind of driver or software conflict, but everything is up to date and I barely have anything installed other than antivirus (I've tried a few different ones) and some applications. I've ruled out the router as no other devices have ever had issues with it. Could it be a memory issue? Is memtest86 still a good way of checking it?

Please let me know what info you need. System specs as follows...

    ASRock Z390M-ITX/ac

    i7-9700K

    NVMe Force MP510

    32GB (2x16GB) Corsair DDR4

    RTX 2080 Super

    :)
