Windows 10: Internal display not using dedicated laptop gpu

my gaming laptop isnt using the full potential out of my dedicated gpu and i know this for a fact because when i connect an external display i get double if not triple the fps then before, and some games dont even use the dedicated gpu even though i set the application manually to use it in NVidia control panel and in the windows graphics settings. The only this can be fixed is to make the internal display run on dedicated graphics and IF ANYONE CAN FIX THIS EVEN IF ITS IN AN UNLICENSED WAY THEN THAT WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO ME, NOT EVEN THE WARENTY I PAID FOR 400+ DOLLARS CAN FIX IT, please he

How do I disable the dedicated GPU

My machine has both an APU (as the CPU) and a dedicated GPU.

It (seems to have) worked!

TechPowerUp GPU-Z is showing fewer details about the dedicated GPU. I played Half-Life for the same amount of time as last time and my machine did not shut down. Also interestingly, the game ran consistently at over twice the frame rate as with dedicated GPU enabled on one map and consistently at around twice the framerate as with the dedicated GPU on another...

You mentioned that the issue doesn't occur on an extended monitor. This suggests that the problem may be related to the laptop's internal display. Does your computer have both dedicated GPU and integrated one? You can launch Device Manager > Display Adapter, do you see two listed instead of one? Yes, I do, but since my display runs on the integrated GPU, I can't run clients, browsers etc... on the dedicated GPU
