    I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 (downloaded it from Microsoft.com). When it was installed, it ran windows updates automatically and downloaded all drivers and other relevant updates.

    In the history I saw a driver update "INTEL - System - 10/3/2016 12:00:00 AM - 10.1.1.38". Why is the "INTEL" capital? Should it not be "Intel"?

    In device manager I saw that the said driver was installed for "Mobile 5th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) SMBus Controller - 9CA2".


    Now on Intel's as well as Acer's website(my PC's manufacturer), I cannot see that driver.


    My question is: why did windows install a random driver? Should it not have asked me first? How can I change my settings in Windows 10 so that drivers are not installed from Windows Update?

    Why is there no KB prefix to this driver?

    I got as far as step 4, but was presented with

    INTEL - System - 10/3/2016 12:00:00 AM - 10.1.1.38 [​IMG]

    I tried Universal Serial Bus Controllers, then MTP USB Device, which appears to have worked.

    W10 update / Microsoft - WPD - 2/22/2016 12:00:00 AM - 5.2.5326.4762


    This update showed up on 1 of my PC's yesterday but when it ask me to install it I just ignored it and today it is gone and I have no record of it being installed.
    I checked WU today on my 3 systems and it is not offered anymore.

    My Lumina Icon still works so I assume this update was pulled.

    I checked Device Manager and here is what I have for my phone under Portable Devices and under Universal Serial Bus Devices.
