  1. Installed m.2 SSD and Windows; Now: Choose OS

I purchased an Acer Aspire E-15 and, on the recommendation of a review, bought a 128GB ADATA SU800 m.2 2280 SSD. Before installing the SSD, I booted up the computer and got everything working. I then shut it down, installed the SSD, and booted to the USB stick to install Windows. Once done, I rebooted and had to choose which OS to use, which made sense since I had 2 installed. Upon rebooting to the SSD, I then did a complete format of the HDD hoping to wipe Windows (which it did). But, it still asks upon rebooting, "Choose an operating system." I tried a few things, including downloading MiniTool Partition Wizard, and trying to copy the "system partition" from the HDD (and may have made things more complicated).

**I also noted that although the SSD appears on some pages of my BIOS, it does not appear in the BOOT page as an option to boot from. That only shows "Windows Boot Manager."

I have included screenshots of the Disk Management and each page of my BIOS.

In a nut shell, the computer boots up and everything works great, but I need to get rid of the Choose Operating System option upon boot up.

    Thanks for any help!!!

M.2 SSD not being able to boot from it, windows doesn't recognise.

Ok, this is what happened after all the comments and suggestions, @Dude: Thanx for the video, my mb had non e of those settings, it had the raid/option memory gene or achi. Can only choose one or the other. @Saltgrass, my settings did point out auto and enabled the pcie x4, gen 3. I did an bios flash as suggested, because my bios was not the latest version, after a reformat the m.2 was picked up, still cant install OS onto it as it states legacy not found, removed my dvd rom from the sata port to another, and the drive was found and installed. Only issue now is that it's still not my OS drive but it at least now works and is installed, but on the Intel rst drive the obtain memory gene option to enable is greyed out, and shows as disabled. However the program lists the M.2 and it is working 100%,. I installed overwhatch onto it, it performs perfectly. But will update the intel driver tonight and see if that makes any difference. Seems the bios flash enabled the settings listed by @Dude that was not present pre-flash.

So the m.2 drive works. I can game off it and install omnto it. Can not install windows on it, gene memmory is enabled, pcie x4 is on and on auto detect, Motherbaord lists all the drives connected, motherboard ahs been updated to latest bios. After flash new settings became available, m.2 is now on memmory gene enabled not achi, windows os is enabled and fast boost is enabled, intel rst is installed and lists all the ssds and the m.2, however the m.2 on memmory gene is dissabled and the option to enable is greyed out. Will update the driver as Essenbe suggested of the m.2 and see if anything changes. Thank you all for the help, I can now atleast use my m.2

M.2 SSD not being able to boot from it, windows doesn't recognise.

    Good morning all

Think this is my first post here, I recently upgraded my pc and I am having trouble installing windows 10 home on an Evo 500gig ssd m.2, the motherboard etc supports the m.2 but when I go into boot drive etc and choose to boot from disk, windows lists my m.2 as a drive, but gives the error "this is not a bootable drive" so my question is how to fix this or bypass the error.

Ps: I have tried the following: On my motherboard clicked the setting to support wodows os, which according to the manual is for win 8 and up.
I did a clean build and install on all parts, all parts are listed and according to motherboard test works.
I tried it with the m.2 gene that the motherboard features, no luck.
After the normal ssd was placed in and the m.2 removed, it installed perfectly, pc running as it should, just slower then I'd like as I can't use my drive I want.
Oh, and I am not sure how to edit my system specs, so the ones listed in my profile is old, heres the new ones:

Intel core i9 7900x, msi gaming pro carbon x299 motherboard, 32gig 2400mhz crucial ram 8x4gigs, corsair 250gig ssd, but this is where I'd like the samsung evo 960 m.2 to be, and if relevant, it's a 970msi gfx, will be replaced.

Thank you, please excuse any stupid mistakes my made hehe

Crucial m.2 ssd not recognized by bios post windows 10 installation

Installed windows 10 pro on my crucial m.2 ssd 500gb as us z97 board and it was fine.

Drivers updated two monitors came to life with beautiful desktop. File explorer was different, login screen was nice, start button was crisp....I played. A little bit with it and went to work. Came back and found my pc in bios.

i immediately set everything to default. And found that my crucial m.2 ssd is nowhere to be found in my bios. Hence no OS to boot from.****???

    a coincidence?

I popped in another crucial m.2 ssd and its fine. Going to attempt to install again and see if it repeats....... Stay tuned guys I may have found a problem.
