  2. win 10 update leaves vertical pink line on screen

today i applied latest win 10 update and now i have a vertical pink line on screen, it remains on every screen. i have tried these fixes

Step 1: I suggest you to run SFC scan,
System File Checkeris a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Right click on the Start button, click on
      Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
      Enter.
    • After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update the display drivers and check.

Steps to Update the Display Adapter driver.

    • Press Windows key + Xkey when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapter.
    • Right on the Display Adapter and click on
      Update driver software
BUT i still have the line on screen.

  3. toyo Win User
    Windows Tearing (HDMI, SP3, HD4850, LCD 23")

Yeah, the vertical window edges get broken like steps from a stair. Visible even on slower dragging speed (let's say 1.5 secs from left to right LCD edge). No ghosting though, at least not that I can see with my bare eyes.

  4. I would like to move my tqaskbar to a vertical edge of the screen in Windows 11

How to move taskbar to vertical position in windows 11?

    G'day,

I am not joking when I say that I had to retire when my office "upgraded" to Win 11.

    • I've been a a high-functioning IT professional using Microsoft products since 1986.
    • But now, I cannot use Windows 11 to get work done, because
      • I regularly have 30-40 files open among 6 to 10 applications (on 3 screens).
      • the cognitive overload when switching contexts tires me out within minutes.
      • The restrictions on the Win 11 start bar have crippled by ability to manage this.
    • Going back to Win 10 start bar in my home projects solved the issue.
I have been involved with studies on worker's personal productivity when using different Windows configurations.

Once a knowledge worker becomes comfortable with the vertical task bar, unstacked and with file names, their productivity significantly improves.

    The converse is also true.

This is why the earlier Windows designers made the great decisions they did and provided the vertical start bar.

    Additionally,

    • Vertical bars are a better utilization of modern wider screen space.
    • The vertical start-bar allows us to see a grouped list of the application AND file-names being worked on (if you un-stack the icon).
      • The file names do not move relative positions on the task-bar while they are open.
      • So the user does not need to break flow to search through pop-up screen pics.
      • A single click switches context. No mental effort required.
    • The bar can be set up between two monitors, meaning mouse movement path to the target file is reduced on average.
    • All of this significantly reduces the cognitive load when navigating.

Of course, Windows users that only have a couple of apps and files open at a time are not affected.

But, they should not dictate the direction of this important, iconic software!

Please Microsoft... your designers got the designs correct in the 90s.

Please, please, please! bring these excellent ideas back to the product.

    Thanks,

    Mike
