Windows 10: I want to know when or if you are going to stop this efficiency mode on our computers

I stream video games on twitch and use discord for the people that play with me so my community can hear them. I have experienced crashes to my games, BSOD, and I've had to stop my streams because of this and countless other problems caused by windows resetting my settings, adding features I never asked for and forcing us all to endure countless issues each time we turn on our pcs or there is an update. This has got to end! I am so sick of having to troubleshoot my PC every few weeks, go through 15 "easy" steps to fix it, then rinse and repeat the next update. I've had to cancel my streams bec

Computer stopped going into sleep mode

Hello, Kiran.

My computer is up to date and I didn't change any settings prior or after the update

I tried step one, but I haven't wait the time required for the computer to go into sleep mode. I did change the 30 minute wait to 10 minutes. So, I'll wait and see what happens

 

Efficiency mode causing performance issue

Efficiency mode, previously known as Eco mode, in Windows 11 is designed to limit the resources an application can use to help improve energy efficiency and reduce the system's overall resource usage. However, for resource-intensive applications like AutoCAD Civil 3D, this mode can indeed cause performance issues.

Here are some steps you can take to manage Efficiency mode for your applications:

1. Power Plan Settings:
   
   • Go to 'Settings' > 'System' > 'Power & battery'.
     
   • Under 'Power mode', make sure it's set to 'Best performance'.
     
2. Graphics Settings:
   
   • Go to 'Settings' > 'System' > 'Display' > 'Graphics'.
     
   • Browse for the AutoCAD Civil 3D executable or add it if it's not listed.
     
   • Once added, click on the application and choose 'Options'.
     
   • Set the graphics preference to 'High performance'.
     
3. Registry Edit (Advanced, proceed with caution):
   
   • Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
     
   • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerThrottling.
     
   • Here, you can create or modify a DWORD value named PowerThrottlingOff and set it to 1 to disable power throttling globally. This is not recommended as it affects the entire system and can lead to higher power consumption and heat generation.

It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. iTunes stops playing when the computer go to sleep

Hi Ross,

Sleep mode is designed to stop all actions on a computer as it puts the device to a low-power state. Since you want to continue using a program even while your computer is locked, we suggest turning off Sleep mode by following these steps:

• Click Start.
• Go to Settings.
• Click System.
• Choose Power & Sleep from the left pane.
• Under Sleep, choose Never.
