Windows 10: I Reset my PC and it went from Windows 11 Pro to Windows 11 Enterprise and I lost my license

So, I factory reset my PC like I do almost once a year. But this time when I finished resetting my pc and set it up. I was checking my settings to fix them back to my preference and see if my pc needed some updates. Then I saw that my windows isn't activated which confused me. I clicked it and on the Activation state it says "We can't activate Windows on this device right now. You can try activating again later or go to the Store to buy a genuine Windows. Error code: 0x80004005". When I click troubleshoot it says, "Something interrupted our troubleshooting. Make sure you're connected to the In

Windows 11 Pro updated itself to Enterprise and lost license

As the title says. On my work laptop I was using Windows 11 Pro. After an update it upgraded itself to Windows 11 Enterprise and it said that I need to activate Windows. I tried switching back to Windows 11 Pro, as suggested by a Microsoft employee, by doing a clean install, but instead I just lost all of my data. Windows is still not activated.

So instead of trying to come up with a solution that we all know won't work, I'd appreciate it if you didn't waste my time. Just give me a working key for Windows 11 Pro. I've already lost all the data from my work lap top for no reason, and quite frankly I am a bit pissed.

 

Windows 11 Pro to Enterprise

We got windows 11 Pro on our system we even activated it with a windows 11 pro license key. But after a while maybe logging in our office account the system turns into Windows 11 Enterprise.

Is that possible? or is there any way to go from windows 11 pro to enterprise other that using the corresponding version key?

Windows 11 Enterprise license activation issue

Our organization recently purchased brand new Lenovo desktops and laptops that come with Windows 11 Pro edition through the factory image.

We image them all through SCCM using a custom Windows 11 enterprise (v22H2) image captured from a reference virtual machine. After image process is completed, Windows updates are performed to install the latest updates and then PCs rebooted. Afterwards, we observe that the edition changes from Enterprise to Pro.

We are utilizing the KMS license keys published on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service webiste under our organization's account. We've discovered that all the KMS license keys for both Enterprise and Pro editions are actually the same which is quite odd. In our case, they are actually Pro licenses based on the result of the license activations. That may explain why the edition changed to Pro.

Unfortunately we can't manually activate the PCs to Windows 11 Enterprise unless we use the generic volume license keys (GLVK) instead.

Is it the recommendation to use the GLVK licenses instead going forward?
