  2. downloading fortnite on a different device then what its showing

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand it can be frustrating when you are not getting the games as it is to be, but we will try to get it sorted for you.
To understand the issue better, we need few information.

    • Are you trying to download Fortnite game for PC?
    • Have you purchased Fortnite game?
    • How are you trying to download the game?
    • What is the error you are getting while downloading?

If you wish to download Fortnite game for PC, I would suggest you to
    download it from the publishersite.

You can also download the Fortnite
    game from the Microsoft store
    .
However it is applicable only for Xbox one.

If you would like me to provide additional advice, simply respond to this thread. I will get notified and I'll reply to you as soon as I can.

    We await your response.

Custom gaming pc for Fortnite...need help!!!

Honestly just about any decent machine will handle Fortnite with ease so you could probably spend half that and still build a decent machine for Fortnite.

That said, the system listed is a nice build and one that's future proof more demanding games. You might consider building it not just for Fortnite, but other stuff.

Again, any decent system can handle Fortnite so from that perspective the specs listed above is over kill. But if you want something future proof and powerful that system is a nice place to start.

Anyway the only suggestion I have (based on the assumption of an OS drive) is to get a 512gig SSD drive, and put the extra money towards a 2TB or more HDD drive for games and other data. The only real difference between putting games on an SSD drive vs. HDD drive is faster load times. The other thing you could do, though it's more money, is again, go with a 515gig SSD for the OS, and a 1TB SSD for games and data.

I just don't see an OS drive needing a 1TB SSD drive. I've got multiple SSD drives in my system with the OS drive being a 512gig SSD drive and my other SSD drives holding other data. The OS drive houses all the OS's native files and folders - Documents, Pictures, Music, Downloads, while the data that my go into those folders is placed on the other drives - Gaming, Music, Photo, Misc. Data.

    My two cents.

I got a new pc and I downloaded Fortnite on my pc windows 10 and I try launching Fortnite buts says untrusted file please help

    Hello, Verified ㅤ

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you're having problems playing Fortnite on your new PC. "Untrusted file" errors usually occur when a game file is corrupted or when an anti-cheat system flags something unusual.

Here are a few steps you can try to solve this problem:

    1. Verify Fortnite files:

Sometimes files get corrupted during download or installation. You can verify your game files through the Epic Games Launcher:

    Open the Epic Games Launcher.

    Go to your library.

Click on the three dots next to Fortnite and select "Verify."

    2. Update the graphics driver:

Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers sometimes cause compatibility issues with games.

Go to the website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific GPU model.

    3. Check for Windows updates:

Make sure Windows 10 is up to date. Sometimes, a system update can address compatibility issues.

Run Fortnite as Administrator: Right-click on the Fortnite shortcut or executable and select "Run as Administrator". This can sometimes bypass permission issues that cause "untrusted files" errors.

    4. Disable antivirus software/firewall:

Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall software and try to start Fortnite again. Sometimes these programs interfere with game files.

Disclaimer: Temporarily turn off antivirus protection. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn it on immediately once issue fixed.

    5. Reinstall Fortnite:

If none of the above steps work, you may need to reinstall Fortnite:

Uninstall Fortnite from Epic Games Launcher.

    Restart your computer.

Reinstall Fortnite via Epic Games Launcher.

    6. Check system integrity:

Use the System File Checker (SFC) tool for Windows to scan and recover corrupt system files:

Open the command prompt as an administrator.

Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

Wait for the scan to complete, and if you find a problem, follow the on-screen instructions.

Disclaimer: Running Microsoft Safety Scanner can help you check if the system is disturbed or malicious software exists. To avoid any trouble for you, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.

If you're still having problems after trying these steps, please contact Epic Games Support for further help, as they can provide more specific troubleshooting steps related to their game and launcher.

    Best regards
