Mass storage controller

I can't believe how difficult it is to solve this problem. The mass storage controller disappeared from my Toshiba laptop after I put Windows 7 on, but it was months after that it happened, I have looked high and low but even Toshiba doesn't have this
for Windows 7 , though it has it for Vista. I can't find anything that helps. Any suggestions?

Method 1.

I suggest you to run hardware troubleshooter to diagnose the exact issue. It will automatically detect the problem and fix it.

  Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.

  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.

  Click on Small icon on the left navigation pane.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Device.

  Click on Advanced on the Hardware troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
