  2. How to disable "which device did you plug in?"

    Hello,

    Please try these steps:

    1. Press Windows + R, type control panel and then hit Enter, select Hardware and Sound.
    2. Scroll down and select Realtek HD Audio Manager.
    3. Click the folder icon just above and to the right of where it says analog back panel and just below Device Advanced settings.
    4. Uncheck Enable auto popup dialog when device has been plugged in.
    5. Click OK twice.
    6. Now, restart the computer and check the issue.

    Or try this:

Go to Settings > System > Notifications and actions and under Get notifications from these senders, scroll down and turn
    off Realtek HD Audio Console.

    Or follow this:

    • Open Task Manager: right-click on the Windows taskbar > Task Manager.
    • Go to the Start-up tab
    • Disable the following (right-click > Disable):
    HD Audio Background Process

    Realtek HD Audio Manager

    Waves MaxxAudio Service Application

    • Restart your computer

If you've a Dell system, try this:

    1. Open the program WAVES MaxxAudio Pro
    2. Choose the device, eg. Playback
    3. Click Advanced in the bottom center of the window
    4. Toggle the "Show pop-up dialog when device is connected" checkbox

    Hope this helps!

  3. Plugged in/ out notification not shown when charger is plugged in or out

Hello, thank you for your answer.

My battery icon is there anyways showing me that the laptop is charging.

The device is charging as usual, I just don't get the popup notification that comes up as soon as the charger is plugged in or plugged out as it used to do before. I mean the 2-3 second popup notification down low in the middle of the screen saying "Plugged
    in Charger" / "On Battery".

Unfortunately none of the options helped me I keep getting “Which device did you plug in?”notification without me plugging anything. :(

Disabling "Which device did you plug in?" notification

I have been looking for a solution for a while, but I can't find one that works for me. I have been trying to disable this notification:

This pops up whenever I plug in headphones or earbuds, and neither will start producing sound until I click 'OK'.

The RealTek console has absolutely no controls for this notification or any jack detection check boxes, There is no RealTek audio device in Control Panel, Waves MaxxAudio does not have any controls for this, and I can't find anything about it in the sound
device manager. The bios has no settings pertaining to audio. Additionally, because I have to push 'OK' every time I plug something in, I can't simply stop the notification from popping up at all. I need to make my PC remember my choice, default to the device
I just plugged in over the laptop speakers, and never ask again.

This problem is occurring on a fairly new Acer Nitro 5 laptop. The only modification I have made is installing an extra HDD. The problem existed even before I made that modification, though, so I don't think that has anything to do with it. The port in question
is the only audio jack on the laptop.
