Windows 10: I having in issue that cannot allow my apps to access my microphone

How do I limit an app's access to my microphone if that app is not even on the list of apps that are allowed to use the microphone but uses it anyway?

 

Any 3rd party Microphone will not allow access.

1. Check App-Specific Microphone Permissions: Open the respective application, such as Teams or Zoom, and navigate to its settings. Look for microphone permissions and make sure the selected microphone device (e.g., Sennheiser Edgerunners or LG Zone920) is allowed to access the microphone.
   
2. Update Audio Drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause issues with microphone access. Visit the support website of your computer manufacturer or the respective microphone manufacturer and download/install the latest drivers for your microphone model.
   
3. Run the Windows Troubleshooter: Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot. Select "Additional troubleshooters" and run the "Recording Audio" troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any microphone-related issues.
   
4. Check Antivirus or Firewall Settings: Sometimes, antivirus software or firewall settings may block microphone access. Temporarily disable them and check if the microphone works properly. If it does, adjust the settings accordingly to allow microphone access.
   
   Disclaimer: Temporarily turn off antivirus protection. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn it on immediately once issue fixed.

Your microphone is not allowed to access

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I understand you're having trouble with your microphone in Windows 10.

Make sure "Allow access to the microphone on this device" is turned on

Press Win+I then search microphone privacy settings

click change and turn it on.

To let apps access the microphone, select the Start button, and then select Settings > Privacy > Microphone . Then turn on Allow apps to access your microphone.

After allowing access to the microphone, you can choose which apps can access these features under Choose which apps can access your microphone.

How to control which Microsoft Store apps can use the microphone

Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone.

Choose your preferred setting for Allow apps to access your microphone.

Under Choose which apps can access your microphone, turn the individual settings for apps On or Off.
