    Hello! I've been trying to reach tech support for over an hour, and this is getting ridiculous. I'm trying to get rid of the admin username/password that is preventing me from editing anything in settings/ downloads. I am also trying to delete an account that I am no longer using, but it will not allow me to sign out of without a password. But i do not recall the password, and the recovery form is of no help to me at all. I cannot even reset my pc without admin permissions. Can someone please help me before I go off the deep end?

    8 hours of tech support

    After 8 hours of pointless 'tech support' I got told to take my computer to the shop. I think I'll just throw it in the bin and buy a rival product. 8 hours of pushing the same buttons and not getting the slightest bit of sense out of any of the Microsoft
    techies. I got apologies, promises (soon broken), lies and deceit, but nothing in the way of support. There were online chats that got mysteriously disconnected when they failed to solve my problem. There were very long phone calls that went round and round
    in circles without anyone showing the slightest interest. The bottom line is that Microsoft sent an update and the update stopped my computer working and Microsoft aren't interested in fixing it. 8 hours it took to reach that point. If I do as the last person
    said, and go to the shop, I'll hardly be coming home with anything that involves Microsoft. There are alternatives, which I was forced to Google before the last person I spoke to had finished speaking. I guess they all earned their wage today, while I lost
    8 hours of paid work. Taking my computer to the shop as they suggest will cost me a whole day without pay. It might cost me more if I had to make a return journey. Microsoft bust my computer with a lousy update and they expect me to pick up the pieces and
    shoulder all the wasted time and financial expense. I'm not a happy customer and I can't possibly show any enthusiasm for the company at this stage. That was one update I could have done without, because it clearly caused nothing but grief. My experience leads
    me to research the alternatives, which is something friends and colleagues used to urge me to do years ago.

    What Type / Brand / Model No is your computer ???

    So what is actually happening when you boot the computer ???

    Are there any Error Log Files or Crash Dumps ???

    Can you access Safe Mode ???

    If you can it may be possible to run Repair or boot back to a previous;y known working Restore point.

    I tried that, more than once. I go thru the complete procedure of getting a new Microsoft account password, then when I reach the final step to key in the Windows password, I try my NEW Microsoft account password, and I get the same message-invalid password. No luck.

    Any other suggestions.
