    Need help connecting USB turntable

I have a windows 10 pro laptop that using the sound control panel will play music from the usb turntable.

I have a windows 10 home box that WILL NOT play sound from the very same USB turntable.

Neither computer supports application access to record the device

Audacity gives a -9999 error code

Sony's Audio studio app v9 will not connect to the device. No messages it shows no sound activity in the monitor

Sony suggests I may be missing a codec.

Following another MS link using device manager I updated all sound, video and game controller devices (realtek on the pro updated nothing on the windows home box updated) I then uninstalled the devices deleting the driver where appropriate rebooted and
    they all re-installed.

both machines have entries for intel display audio, NVidea audio (not exactly the same) (two GPUs in each of these laptops) and a RealTek audio driver (the default for the mic and internal speakers) and due to the turntable a USB AUDIO codec (one for line
    - no speaker reference here)

In addition USB Controllers shows an additional USB Composite device (expected)

AND audio input and output get two additional entries

a Line (2-USB AUDIO CODEC) the input to record from

a Speakers (2-USB AUDIO CODEC) (not high on my interest list now)

Devices and Printers has a new entry for the Speakers (2-USB AUDIO CODEC)

Lastly OpenSUSE and Audacity record from this device and the output MP3's that I have test played in windows and sound good. So the hardware appears to be functional. Note also the windows pro box successfully functions as amp and speakers for the USB turn
    table too.

Can anyone suggest next steps to get this device working in windows on the Windows 10 Home Box I would like to connect it to most of the time?

Windows 11 does not record in stereo from a USB turntable

I have an Audio-Technica USB turntable which I have installed on a Windows 11 laptop. When I use Audacity to record from it, the left and right channels are identical, so I am essentially recording in mono. I've checked the device settings to make sure that the device is seen as a 2-channel stereo input. I've tried working with Stereo Mix. I've listened directly to the device through Device Manager. In each case, I have the same problem. I installed the turntable on a different laptop (which is running Windows 10) and the stereo signal plays correctly. Thus, there's nothing wrong with the turntable or Audacity. What's wrong with my Windows 11 setup?

    Thanks!
