Windows 10: I have a message on my PC that says my computer is blocked by windows defender and to call...

My PC is locked up. Says it is Windows defender security center and to call 1-888-318-9325. I'm sure it's a scam but how do I get out of it?

Windows Defender is blocking too much saying it viruses

Based on the screenshot that you've provided, Controlled Folder Access is turned on, blocking most apps that you're using. We suggest that you turn it off to allow blocked apps in Windows Defender. Follow the steps below:

• Select Start > Settings.
• Choose Update & security > Windows Defender.
• Select Open Windows Defender Security Center.
• Select Virus & threat protection, and then choose Virus & threat protection settings.
• Under Controlled folder access, turn it on or off.
• Once done, try accessing the apps and see if you can now access them.

Windows Defender (WD) is included in Win 10. WD cannot be uninstalled. To prevent potential software conflicts and performance issues, WD should be disabled by the presence of Webroot.

Windows Defender automatically turns off if you install another antivirus app.

If you prefer to use Windows Defender for real time protection (instead of Webroot) you should uninstall Webroot, reboot and run the appropriate software removal tool for Webroot and then reboot the computer. Windows Defender should be enabled. See List

Message saying I have 5 infestions

More than likely its a fake McAfee popup, this can happen when you go to a sketchy site. Try cleaning your browser cache and running Adwcleaner, if this doesn't work others will offer more suggestions. I'll suggest not running Spyhunter, it will list a myriad of problems with your computer and then ask for money to clean it. Also if your running Windows 10 why not just use Defender, augment it with Configure Defender and you'll have far better protection then PC Matic IMO.
