Windows 10: I found a workaround for Windows Photos and Shell Infrastructure Host

It seems like this is a relatively recent problem that others have been encountering in both Windows 10 and Windows 11; opening Windows Photos causes the CPU usage to shoot through the roof and doesn't go back down even after Windows Photos is closed. Shell Infrastructure Host went up to as high as 61% on my computer even after terminating the Photos app.

I've seen some suggestions like setting the file type association to another program, but that didn't fix it for me; people also suggested ending the Shell Infrastructure Host process but all that does is restart the computer, which isn't always a reasonable option. What did work for me was to uninstall Windows Photos using PowerShell:

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Remove-AppxPackage

Keep in mind this obviously won't work while you are running the app; this workaround is only to restore your CPU usage back to normal after closing the Photos app.

Once your PC stabilizes, you can reinstall Photos app using the following:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Windows defender blocking Shell Infrastructure host

Shell Infrastructure Host is a core Windows component. Sihost.exe runs the Shell Infrastructure Host. This is critical Windows component and should not be removed. The Windows Shell Infrastructure Host is tasked with handling several
graphical elements of the Operating System interface including taskbar transparency and Start menu.
It’s safe to allow.

I suggest you to follow this article to

Shell infrastructure host has stopped working

I have tried all the methods suggested but still it does not work. Every time I start up my laptop. The screen is just black for about 15 minutes then the dialogue box will appear and says " The shell infrastructure host has stopped working." This happen
since I upgrade my windows from 7 to 10. What will I do to make my computer open fast and to get rid of that shell infrastructure host thing?
